Kelp is the supercrop of the future
Kelp needs no fertilizers, fresh water, pesticides, or land to grow. As it grows, it sequesters CO2 and excess nutrients–significantly more than even rainforests. It is a habitat for marine life and improves environments wherever it grows, helping to fight the effects of ocean acidification. It’s full of proteins, minerals, and high value compounds–all sustainable ingredients that are in high demand.
We cultivate Alaskan Giant Kelp (Macrocystis Pyrfiera), the largest and fastest growing species of kelp on the planet. Alaskan Giant Kelp is perennial, meaning we can harvest the same grow lines multiple times per year.
From there, high throughput, centralized processing allows us to turn the fastest growing crop in the world into high value products .

Our Team
Nick Stern and John Smet are two friends who met at Cornell University. After graduation and a few years working in Corporate America, they were inspired to leave their jobs and move to Alaska to pursue their dreams of starting their own business.
